Screen flashing white after waking up from sleep Windows 10

Sharif
Go to solution Solved by GoodBytes,

So there nothing to worry about in terms of hardware,it's only a driver problem?

It would seams to.

After I woke my computer up today I had this flickering screen and I had to force my computer off

This is basically what is happening

It's my first time experiencing this, before this get's worse I want to solve it

I tried googling but got only one result (Posted 10 hours ago) on reddit and also using windows 10

Can you help please?

Edit
I asked the Nvida help center
They told me to try 2 things
1- Open the NVIDIA control panel-------->3D settings------->Manage 3D settings-------->Program setting------Select the game's .exe file or add the .exe file of the game ------->power management mode. If it is set to "Adaptive" now change it to "Prefer maximum performance"

Open "NVIDIA Control Panel" > "3D Settings" > "Manage 3D Settings" > "Global Settings"
Please set to these below settings and click on "apply"

2 - Please uninstall all NVIDIA software and delete it from registry. Instructions below:
1. Click on the follow link; that includes third party software called Revo Un-installer. http://www.revouninstaller.com/
2. Download and uninstall all the NVIDIA related programs and also ensure that the registry entries are deleted as well. Instructions: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_screenshots.html

Once you download it. Run the tool and remove all the NVIDIA Files with the above steps and the computer will restart automatically.

Now download the driver from the below link with the same instructions and see if that works.

a) Click on the link provided above.
B) Click on "Download". On the next page click "Agree and Download".
c) After the download has finished, install the file using custom installation.
d) Tick mark "Perform Clean Install" and go ahead with the installation process.
e) Restart the computer after finishing the installation.

I am going to try the 2nd one after a hour (So far so good)

No way it's a Asus 970 + only happening recently I am probably one of the few people experiencing this

As you can see from the reddit post was only 10 hours ago and the timing can't be a coincidence  :)

It would seams to.

It happened again,yesterday

I forgot to mention after jumping to windows 10,I have been having this error pop up

Display driver has stopped responding and has recovered,is it related?

When it happened my computer woke up from sleep (By itself) had a error sound and the screen started flashing white (Happened simultaneously)

Edit - This is the error I get usually after waking computer up

post-28149-0-98086800-1442154145.png

After I woke my computer up and after downgrading the driver

(Though I remember it doing that even with the one I am using now, just checking/hoping if the flashing white screen stops)

My cough cough mobo is old and only has windows 7 drivers

doubt that

most drivers that work on 7 will work fine with 10...

you need to go to the chipset manufacter tho

not motherboard

Problem with clean install is,the hassle got no idea if I can enter windows 8 key on windows and most importantly the number of apps I need to re-install

Just check the motherboard's chipset driver,it's a old one from 2010

a reinstall doesn't usually take very long if you backup the right stuff

any programs that take a while to config...you backup those config files

as for the key...you don't need a key...you just skip the key entry when doing the install

it will auto activate once you are in windows

How can it auto activate without a key?

also what about the built in reset option in windows?
