8gb is enough. But yes. Most modern games require at LEAST 4gb (and the minimum requirement is starting to be 6-8gb.) So, I don't see how you've gotten by thus far.

What are the rest of your specs? Is it even WORTH upgrading?

Yes but if you don't know what kind of DDR memory you have right now you should check that before you buy DDR3 ram.

If you have DDR2 (and you probably do if you only have 2gb) then that 16gb of ram will not fit in your motherboard because the slots are not the same.

Ask one of your friends that knows a thing or two about tech.

What CPU/GPU do you have? That also is likely not helping you -- considering you have only 2gb of RAM, I'm expecting some pretty old shit.

I checked it, both ddr3 and my motherboard supports up to 32gb of ram
