why does gta 5 run better on dx10 than dx11?

i get higher fps in dx10 than in 11 also is 12 coming for gta , will it be better?

Any additional eye candy will result in less fps

is not like well this will look better in d12 and perform the same,it doesn't work that way.More details,less fps

I doubt that R* will update it to dx-12 considering how long it took them to even get a PC version out, it would be too costly imo.

Some features in dx11 aren't in dx10, tessellation is one of them, not sure about other features but yeah.

DX10 lacks tessellation and some other graphical effects that are pretty demanding.

From salty to bath salty in 2.9 seconds

I doubt that R* will update it to dx-12 considering how long it took them to even get a PC version out, it would be too costly imo.

weird I noticed that MSI afterburner still reads the game in D3D11 rather than D3D10 but yeah I noticed extra few FPS when running in DX10.

Visual effects, DX11 renders more "stuff" in GTAV, so will be slower.

 

I doubt that R* will update it to dx-12 considering how long it took them to even get a PC version out, it would be too costly imo. 

 

They made helluva lot of money from GTA, it'd take too much time more than anything.

Well yeah but time is money, I'm sure that they would want their programmers on other tasks too. If there are going to use GTA V's engine on another game I would imagine they would support dx12 but if they're going for a new engine for their next game they will probably forget about upgrading GTA to dx12

Arkham Knight was optimized great...

Just not for the right fps..

Thats because the game is still technically using the Direct3D 11 API. Its strictly using D3D10 API functionality through feature levels.
