Best alternative to Asus 27" ROG Swift PG278Q

Go to solution Solved by Mao_Zedong,

The Acer XG270HU is the best option.

Sadly no.

Yes there is.

Hello fellow members.

I am currently looking to replace my "BenQ 24" LED RL2455HM" which is a great screen, but I want 1440p and 144hz refresh rate.
So I was looking at the ROG Swift, which is just PERFECT for me, but costs a lot!
My question is: is there an alternative to the Swift screen with most of the specs
excluding the G-Sync. (I don't need it).

Please post suggestions and why :D Thanks in advance. :D <3

Well, you have LG's Ultrawide monitors. 21:9 aspect so you have a lot of real estate on one screen, and plus, the 27 inch is a 4K variant i believe.

@Biferony That is awesome! ;) Sadly I cannot find it in any shops in my country, but amazon got it so I'll be able to get it, but at a cost. However it is still a better option! :)

I decided to go with the Acer screen "XG270GU", only minus is the TN panel, but that is to be expected of a high refresh rate screen, right? :)

Why not the LG Ultrawide monitors?

Because none of those available in my country or close by supports more than 75hz, and those that does costs MORE than the ROG Swift screen.

I like widescreens, it's just the fact that I don't need it. And I am 100% sure that the Acer screen will fit me perfectly! ;)

The ASUS MG279Q is 144Hz 1440p IPS panel with freesync so it's cheaper then the Swift.

I got one and it is amazing.

I would wait a month and see what happens when Asus releases there ips version of the Rog Swift, the PG2749Q.

I am not buying anything before I get home from vacation ( i guess a week ). TBH I am more interested in an Asus monitor than an Acer one. :) But hey, the monitors got great reviews and it seems to be a great value. I'll just have to wait and see.

it is still a little too expensive for me, and its got a slower response (GtG) than the Acer monitor.

Yeah it is definitely up there in pricing but I feel that it is worth it and have been enjoying it very much. Would be nice if it was a $100 or so less but being an early adopter with new stuff comes with its price tags >_<

The response time isn't a problem at all, I've not seen any ghosting, everything has been great. 4MS is very good for an IPS panel at such high refresh rate and 1440p resolution.

Linus did his review on the Acer Predator XB270HU stating that on other IPS panels with high refresh rate have been done before, but that the lack of faster response time can cause blurriness, but at 4MS that's not the case.

Unless there's a specific reason 1-2MS monitors seem more like marketing fluff to me, but it honestly boils down to personal preference and how it looks to each person (some people are more sensitive to it then others for sure).
