You would think Ubisoft would support the Bulldozer based architectures more given their digging themed names like bulldozer, Piledriver, Steamroller and Excavator.

wow neato!  how does this fit into your case though?

It would just use more pcie slots.

I'd like to see some more pictures as to how it fits though.

Just don't orient it normally with the cooler facing downwards. Turn the case sideways so it's sitting like the pictures inside the computer.

Originally I wanted to install my H100i onto the 980 instead. But I ran into an issue with the frontplate(?) in that it covers the VRAM and raises the surface above the gpu die. I found out it's possible to order copper shims from Amazon to put on top of the GPU but my 4k display is coming tomorrow and I didn't want to wait for shipping.

Other option would be to pay for a kraken g10 or some other kit but i didn't feel like spending the cash considering the EVGA hybrid looks nicer.

The mod is pretty easy to do. Hardest part is removing the stock heatsink. I just used 2 bolts, washers and nuts from ACE Hardware to secure the new gpu onto the PCB. Most important part is not to over tighten or else you might damage the board. Those youtube videos from other people really helped me a lot.

Noctua barely fits into. Fan does not tho so I'll need a smaller 120mm.

I think a Evo 212 would be a better option overall but I didn't feel like purchasing one as I already had the noctua on hand.

Thats awesome, temps?

I'm running 1.28v on the GPU.

@ 1440p I was hitting 84C.

@ 4k that temp jumped to 89+ X_X and I HAD TO SHUT DOWN THE PC!!!

Now it's hovering around 60C @ 4K.

So about a 33% reduction in temps.

90C made you shut down the PC?

It's designed to run 85C - 90C. It will clock down if it gets too hot.

@bomerr

How did you get it to fit in a Mac Pro/G5 case? What mods did you have to do?

Does the front panel work?

I might be wrong but it seems like there shouldn't be any mods needed to fit it in the case.
