gta v camera stutter

smith315pm

so iv downloaded gta v and i can play it on nearly all highest settings maintaining around 70 to 110 fps, the problem i have is that the camera always seems clunky when turning the camera. my fps never drops and the graphics always look good but the clunky camera really puts me off, i also notice this a tad in the witcher 3 also. what is this problem and is there a way to solve it? i play tomb raider in full ultra and never have this problem. i also use gsync if thats any help and im on a 1440p 144hz ips monitor. any help or is that just how the games are.

always, i noticed it a lot when i got gta v and since then ive picked up on slightly clunky movement on the witcher 3 too. but it cant be a system problem because tomb raider runs like silk on everything maxed. withcer is not bad at all i just feel as though im looking for it too much. but gta seems quite clunky with the camera turning

its quite disappointing because the graphics and frame rate i can run the game at with my system is amazing. i think im looking for it a bit too much while playing now but you kinda do when u notice a defect :(

Change from Raw Input to Direct Input or something. Mouse movement is pretty stuttery on Raw Input, see if changing that setting makes a difference.

i get 0 screen tearing and playing it in high 70-120 fps on ultra, what the post is about is the clunky camera movement, im guessing its just a game problem and not one that can be solved :S

seems to do with raw input.
try direct input and it fixes it.

to fix this limit your fps using rivatuner.

I have my game limited to 144, i refuse to use vsync although adaptive vsync would be just as good.

adaptive vync ? there's only on and off option in game.  i'm on 780ti, i barely get above 68 fps there's no need for me to turn the limit to 144 FPS using afterburner, as my game doesnt even run above 70. but this problem started recently, my game freeze for 2 secs on first time pressing escape when you open the game.

In nvidia control panel, turn adaptive vsync on.

or limit your game fps to 71 using riva tuner.

I would try the 2nd option first and limit fps to 71.

adaptive vync won't turn my game down to 30? because my frames are like 40-60

You can chose adaptive or adaptive half refresh rate.

Half refresh will decrease your framerate.

Honestly though riva tuner would be a better solution if you can do it.
