What is a Rockstar Game Key?

Hey guys,

So I'm about to get GTA V for the PC and was wondering what these Rockstar Social Club Game Keys are - they are a lot cheaper than steam keys! Does this mean I have to download a separate client to steam to play GTA or something? I am completely clueless with this so feel free to say anything about it you might know!

You must download Rockstar Social Club.

Either way you have to use Social Club, the only difference is the Steam one needs to be launched through Steam and the other doesn't. You redeem the key on RockstarSocialClub.com

The rockstar keys use rockstars own client to open it, as opposed to steam. They're cheaper because people want the game on steam more.

Even though you have to use Social Club either way, there is zero benefit to getting it on Steam rather than getting a straight Social Club copy, unless you want the Steam achievements or time played or anything like that.

Personally if they were the same price I would get the Steam key but I wouldn't pay more for it, since as you say both eventually use the rockstar launcher.

Even so, the Rockstar Social Club documents your play time for every save and have achievements, so yeah haha.
