low cpu temps under 100% load

aaleeba

Hello, i have recently built my frist computer

-fx-4300 (zalman cnps 10x optima cooler)

-r9-270

-msi 970 gaming mobo

and i have recently come across something strange. When i was running Aida-64 to get base line temps on cpu for over clocking the temp only ever rose 1-2 degrees over the 30 span that i ran it, and this does not seem right to me at all. it seems to never leave the ambient temperature of my room. Any help about this topic would be very helpful. thanks

btw the temperature of my house id held at 73 F

AMD processors/mobos tend to have a shit temperature reading.

If you seated the processor fine and you aren't overclocking, then just don't worry about it.

Does the temp give the same reading after 10 minutes of burning?

8C min is low for water cooling, probably just faulty temperature readers, unless your ambient temperature is below 8C, which is unlikely.

Looks like the temp algorithm on your CPU is screwed up

very common with AMD CPUs

look at the motherboard CPU temperature reading for a *close* estimate of what your CPU is at

Nope with air/water cooling, temperature of any component cannot fall below ambient

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni

yes i haveran aida for over 30 minutes before with no change in the temp , the problem is that i want to over clock.                          secondly do you think this a mobo problem or a cpu problem ?

The package temp does not directly relate to your actual CPU temp.

This is my HWMonitor, and the temps directly under "AMD FX-8320" are wrong. But the CPU temp under "temperatures" seems to be accurate.

i something must be very wrong with my motherboard/cpu becuase it doesnt show the cpu under the temp section (or i didnt install Hw monitor correctly )

If I'm not mistaken, TMPIN1 is your CPU, while 0 is your mobo, and 2 is something else.

some AMD chips report monitor temps different, as such most utilities will report wrong or outrageously low temps. for example I have an fx 8350 and core-temp gives super low to Zero readings, but HWM gets the right one. go with the CPU temp under the first temperatures heading.
