Nintendo's next home console codenamed "NX" was just kinda sorta announced the other day, and even though there's absolutely no details out about it yet, EB Games Australia has begun pre-orders for the "NX" console instore.

I can't believe that such a large company would actually do this already. I mean, if there were a price announced for it...maybe...? But still though...just...I can't believe that this is a thing...

EDIT: Too many of you are getting upset at the wrong company. Nintendo has nothing to do with this pre-order at the moment. They're smarter than this. It was just EB Games Australia's doing...

Nintendo's not the one doing the pre-order... It's EB Games Australia.

EB Games pre order for anything that's even remotely going to happen, They have had Halo 5 Pre Orders for over a year already and they were getting pre orders for 'the first shipment' of PS4's and Xbones.

They're basically owned by gamestop and that's what gamestop markets themselves as in Australia because it's an acquisition job and it's more recognizable to the Aussie audience, As 'Electronics Boutique" have been about for years. But they basically trade now as a rebranded Gamestop and bring all the bullshit along with it.

Well EB Games AU does have preorders for games years before there released. I had a friend preordered GTA V for PC since the second GTA V trailer came out.

Here's my bet, they're trying to do a crowd-sourcing thing without people noticing.

They're owned by Gamestop so it's not crowd-sourcing, They have millions upon millions of dollars at their disposal. it's just profit grabbing at the first possible opportunity because why not.

EDIT- It also benefits them because they don't have to add 'exclusive' features to things at this point because details aren't certain, so it's a higher profit margin over what they will get when the console is eventually about to get released and there's a 'Gamestop/EB Games exclusive version/Extra item' included with the preorder.

Yeah, they always do this. As soon as there's even a the smallest bit of talk about something new they put a pre-order up.

Preorders for a console that's more like a vague concept, really Nintendo and EB Games? *Ahem* you can both get fucked, I've had enough of this BS from EA, Ubisoft and Turtlerock.

I doubt Nintendo has anything to do with the fact that EB Games are taking pre-orders. They do this all the time. Guaranteed that 5mins after something is announced at E3 or wherever else EB Games starts to take pre-orders. No matter how vague the announcement and how long away it is.

I thought early access games were bad enough. Now we have early access consoles?

I think its called the AAA syndrome.
