Can you help me choose?

chuubibo

I really want to get a new keyboard but I don't which one to get. I kinda liked these 3 keyboards; Razer Blackwidow Tournament edition (Stealth/ Normal), TTesports Poseidon ZX, Razer Deathstalker. Which one is the best and worth buying? Thank you!

None of them! Blackwidow: iffy quality and Kailh switches.

Poseidon: Much the same.

Deathstalker, stupid chiclet keys.

Please avoid Razer for any and all peripherals if you want quality stuff.

I suggest you look into something from Ducky rather than the Blackwidow. Cooler Master, WASD, Corsair, etc are safe bets as well.

For the Poseidon, all of the above.

For the Deathstalker I would straight up avoid an overpriced chiclet keyboard like that and buy something with chiclet keys like the Logitech K120.

|PSU Tier List /80 Plus Efficiency| PSU stuff if you need it.

Ignore him dude, Kailh are fine.  I actually prefer the Razer Kailh Green Switches, which most closely resemble MX Blues.  They just feel better than traditional blues in my opinion.

Here is the problem though.  This is a sensory peripheral.  There is no substitute for getting your hands on the product and trying it for yourself. I made the mistake of going with Browns based on everything I had read and what people said.  I didn't like them, doesn't mean you won't.  Those Browns were Kailh, and they were actually a lot more sturdy than the Corsair K70 MX Reds non-RGB I got to try.

Eventually bought a Ducky Shine Legend keyboard with MX Blues because I got a chance to try a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate in a Best Buy, the blues are great, I love them, but if I'm being completely honest, I prefer the Razer greens, which are Kailh, over the MX blues.

It is such a personal choice, that no one can answer this for you, and trial and error is expensive, so do your best to try before you buy.

"Kailh are fine"

@Syntaxvgm can most definitely prove otherwise...

I mean, if you prefer the Razer switches then great, just know that they aren't held to the same standard in manufacturing as Cherry switches.

Its hard to prove something so subjective.

In the video that Linus did on the Razer BlackWidow Ultimate, I remember him saying that Razer has their own QA/QC people on the factory floor.  Look, I get it, Germany makes the best stuff, I know they do because they have the best engineers in the world in a myriad of products.  That doesn't mean that because Germany does it better, that China is crap.  Its a personal preference thing, and I slightly prefer the higher actuation point on the Razer Greens.

I just went to best buy the other day and recorded a video of every razer keyboard they had in stock doing this, as well as a blue kailh poseidon z. I will be making a review and a video explaining the shitstorm I caused about this soon, borrowing a good ic from a friend when I have the time.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I don't think the wiggle when the key is bottomed out is saying much.  The Corsair K70 non-RGB with MX Reds that I got to try had a ton of wiggle when the keys weren't pushed down at all.  I will re open my keyboard with Brown Kailh switches and try your same test with them, as well as with my Ducky Legend with MX Blues.  If the keyboard works as intended, then its all fine and good.  I feel like in your video, you are deliberately looking for a weakness, either perceived or real, it doesn't hold credence to the quality of the product, because as someone else pointed out in that link, it happens to their Cherry MX Blue as well.

Get browns if you do alot of typing eg school work, but if gaming is you main prio then reds will probs serve you best. The blues IMO are extremely noisy :)

CPU-i5 4690k 4.4ghz @ 1.190V, MOBO-MSI z97 gaming 3, Cooler-hyper 212 evo, GPU- r9 290x asus directcuII (-37Mv), Storage-120gb v300(switching soon), 1tb caviar blue, CASE-Red/black h440, PSU-Antec TPC 650.

I agree with this but some of their cloth pads are pretty good.

Above is not what I meant by sexy xD

Corsair has some super cool mousemats. Guess what I use as a mousemat?

WRONG

I use a clipboard with some fabric laid over it. Works surprisingly well actually.

Sorry, didn't even see your post up here! If you could use the "quote" button in the future then that would be great :)

I have a link in my sig that goes over all of the switches around. Cherry switches are the highlight there with a short quiz to help you decide on what sort of switch you might want.
