Perhaps a Schiit Fulla, or if you really want to go cheap for an amp you can find a CMOY amp on ebay or Amazon. They are inside of an Altoids box. Other than that I believe an E10K will still be able to drive those just fine.

Have you tried running it straight of the device you want (PC, phone, whatnot)? Are you sure it won't go loud enough?

Getting it for Christmas and I've been told it may need a amp.

Exactly. May. As in, maybe, might, possibly, perhaps.

Well, it's just the way you said it, 'not looking to spend loads, just something that'd work' implies you're not getting the amp for the 'swag' factor, or hoping it'd magically make the sounds better (which it wont :) ), then the best course of action would be get the headphone first, and see if it'd work properly. If it won't, it's not too late to order an amp after.

The other way around, if you order an amp, and turns out you don't need one, then it'd become redundant.
