Here not sure if you've seen this yet but when the same thing happened to me I had just followed the steps given and ever since my keyboard has been stick free.  If it doesn't help well I don't know what to say other than good luck.

Hello guys,

Unfortunately, while I spilt my drink on my keyboard, the Coke has made the keys sticky/mechanical switches, I'v trying cleaning around the switch with Isopropyl alcohol, although it helps, it becomes sticky again.

Anyone know a solution to get rid of the coke sticky residue in the switches?

If it becomes sticky after you've already cleaned it, replacing the switch or board is basically your only option.

Keep pressing them?

That may work

Honestly if it's like this then the coke has gotten into the switches themselves, and there's not really anything you can do besides replace the switches or the keyboard.

  • 2 years later...

My keyboard did the same

Now i have to keep using the straw method every single day to keep it from sticking because I'm not allowed to buy another mechanical (Parents)
