About $450 To Spend- Going Big 1440p+

DrClueless

Hey so today I ordered my new build. I have everything except for the gpus and monitor. I am thinking of 2 gigabyte 970s overclocked, but am open to others. I want to know what monitor to get. My old choice was a ROG swift but I'm not sure if it's worth it at the current price. So I need a new monitor with at least a 1440p resolution but am open to 4k. I also would like an ips display if possible. Finally, I would like the ability to play at high refresh rates (120hz+). My budget is $450 but if there is a great monitor for more I will still be open to it.

If you wanna play at 120hz, there is pretty much only the Swift, there are some new monitors due with 120hz but currently for 1440p there is only the swif

its totally worth its price IMO

dont go 4k... its soooo hardware hungry. 1440p looks awesome anyway. Why not get a gtx 980? It will do great on 1440p and you got room to add a second one.

Asus pb278q it is ips, 1440p, and widely regarded as a great monitor. Linus has looks at it twice on ncix, and it's brother the pb279q on ltt:

I literally just ordered that monitor :P

Well I can spend that much but the question is if it's worth it. Maybe I should just wait for more monitors to be released and just use my crappy 720p monitor during the wait.
