Only 3 Case Fans?

Mod3

Hello!

I recently was trying to quiet down my PC, and I removed two case fans.

I now have three case fans. Two intake, one exhaust.

I haven't seen any significant temperature increases, so I'm a bit confused.

Shouldn't I need more fans?

No, because you can only transfer so much heat to the air. Diminishing returns.

Why not do the opposite of your current configuration.

You mean have negative case air pressure?

I don't think that would work very well...?

Why not do the opposite of your current configuration.

Because negative pressure is bad as it attracts dust. Positive pressure reduces the buildup of dust.

Is there any reason that I should need more fans?

More fans can move air at slower speeds than less fans. Less noise.

How are your in-out CFMs? I have also 3 fan system, 1x200mm intake at 70.5cfm and 2x140mm exhaust at 58.7cfm. Still positive pressure and its cool and quiet-ish.

I have three Corsair AF140 LED (White) fans, which I have undervolted to 7v, instead of their usual 12v. I'd imagine that the two intakes bring in about 55-60 CFM, and the exhaust sends out about 25-30 CFM.

Looks to be fine. You don't really need extra exhaust unless your CPU feels to get hot during load and adjusting its cooler has no effect. But three fans in your config is fine too. I build a rig to friend with same config and it works, even under overclock and stress test.
