what is the main reason(s) why you prefer PC over console

asim1999

For me, the best thing about gaming on PC isn't just the obvious stuff like graphics or hardware horsepower, its not having to be part of that ecosystem. Games on PC can more easily compete against each other, rather than Microsoft vs. Sony. The competition is healthier and game prices show it. Anytime games are locked down in any way, its immediately obvious that its just an arbitrary, anti-consumer choice by its publisher.

is it true that generally PC gamers are more mature and sensible ( not the stereotypical retarded teenager on console)?

I use my computer primarily for work, it's also capable of gaming very well, so I don't see the point and buying something just for games. Not when I have access to more games, and have the ability to run and play them at high resolutions, better visuals, free multiplayer and mods.

In my opinion, PCs are better because they can do everything consoles do, but cheaper, more efficiently, better (higher settings and FPS), and they can do so many more things!

There's nothing wrong with Windows.

I don't have to give Microsoft my money to play games on my PC and I can easily avoid GFWL, same goes for anything made by EA or Ubisoft.

KB+M. Them controllers be shit. Also more FPS and better resolutions.

I honestly didn't have a preference between PC and console until I played shadow of mordor on my buddy's xbox one.  I didn't realize until then how much the input lag on a wireless controller can affect gameplay.  On the PC version, I can mash the right mouse button and counter for days.  But, on the Xbone version, there's so much delay in pressing Y that hand-to-hand combat is almost impossible.

Basically just the modding support. Visuals don't matter too much and I'm fine with game pad. I just like playing fun games. I don't care if I have all the resolutions or how many p's the platform can run.

Higher graphic resolution, mods, being able to monitor my systems temps and utilization. Idk why but I love setting up my 2nd monitor with cpu-z, gpu-z afterburner and just watch during what parts of my gaming is the most intensive for my PC. Its like crack to me.

Sometimes the graphics are nicer and games are cheaper. There's also some games that either aren't available on other platforms or just play better on PC due to being designed for mouse and keyboard.

That's about it I think. PCs also have worse DRM, worse support and things breaking far more often.

This exact reason.  Talk hardware specs and controller preference all day.  But I can still play old DOS games.  You can't play PS1 games on the PS4, or NES games on the Wii.

1. Much better graphics are to be had with a pc.

2. Much more upgrading is possible with a pc.

3. PC can be used for way more purposes than a console.

4. 1080p and higher is supported better than on console.

5. Games get cheaper quicker on PC.

6. I can get games for pc and at the same time contribute to charities.

7. I prefer mouse and keyboard as I am just horrible with a controller so pc gaming is more for me.
8. Consoles have no true baseball sim games on them like APBA and OOTP.

... and whatever else I am not thinking of ...

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S
