Nvidia Shield TABLET, I got some questions.
So yeah i got a few question and i will list them under here:
- Does a Hdmi Cable come with the shield so you can connect it to your tv out of the box and no need to buy a new cable? If so how long is it?
No included HDMI cable. The only accessories you get in the box is a micro usb cable (about double the length of a standard one) and a wall charger. It is worth noting that the mini hdmi port and USB port are very close together, so be sure to get a mini hdmi cable that isn't very wide otherwise you might not be able to plug in the micro usb cable at the same time.
- What is the material used on the back of the shield?
Soft touch plastic. Feels really nice and makes it easy to grip, hands don't get sweaty with use. Similar feel to some high end gaming mice.
- can you use gamestream without the controller? and use touch screen controls?
To some extent, yes. You could use touch screen controls for games like Civ V. It really isn't possible to play Titanfall, for example with touch only. The touch screen is NOT disabled at all during game stream
- how far is the range for the controller?
Have yet to receive the controller (live in Canada and isn't available yet), but I will update once I get it. I'd imagine it will be similar to Xbox 360 wireless controllers though so about 30 feet reliably.
- does the screen cover hold on good and dosent just fall of?
Once again, not available yet in Canada so I can't give a definite answer just yet. From what I have seen and heard, it looks quite secure, similar to the Surface Line of products.

- how is the reach on the Bluetooth and WiFi?
Seems to be pretty darn good for a mobile device. With both tablet and portable I get better WIFI reception at the far end of my apartment than I do with a macbook Air or Surface Pro 3. Bluetooth range seems pretty standard (about 30 feet give or take a few with walls).
- if Battery was only around 2 hours of gaming? How long is the Nvidia shield portable?
Depending on your use. If you are using game stream I find that both last upwards of 4 hours of continuous use. If you are doing heavy local gaming on tablet or portable, the portable lasts about 3-4 hours and I'd say the tablet is pretty close to that. I will elaborate when I get more time with it.
- how long is the battery average non gaming usage?
Battery life is similar to a Nexus 7. There is extensive power saving utilities built in by Nvidia that I have not used. Running stock, it can easily last 2 days of mixed used, wifi on, gps on, light android gaming, game stream, youtube, web browsing and drawing with stylus.
-How was the experience compared to other devices like your phone? and how isTexting and phonecalls?
I believe you can't make phone calls, but I was shocked how easy it was to type on while holding it! I have small-medium hands and I have no problem holding and typing quickly. Cameras (front and rear) are both pretty decent, all things considering. Overall experience is pretty much stock Android, nice and clean, EXCELLENT build quality; easily the sturdiest feeling tablet I have ever held. Everything runs fast. Screen is good too, colours don't pop like my S5 but it isn't AMOLED. If you are looking for a tablet, this is easily the best one.
I dont know if its even possible to answear these atm, but if you know something let me know thanks in advance
See above in the quote for my answers. Based on my experience with Shield Tablet thus far, and long term experience with Shield Portable. @CatCloud
