A minor but still INFURIATING problem... Part two.. Revenge of the flicker.

Hello LTT forum members.. I have a problem

I'll just get right to it.

When i am in my browser (And most windows with a white background)

I can't help but to notice a small bit of what i think the correct term for is tearing.

It's barely wider than a piece of string and pops up at random.

It can sometimes be a barely noticeable little blip and then i don't see it for hours.

But sometimes it's almost constant and it's never in the same place for very long.

My specs are.

Intel 3770K (stock for the moment. Has been up at 4,5-4,6 at one point)

Asus p8z77v pro

Asus HD 7850 - x2 crossfire.. Stock for now. Have been at 1050mhz -- Catalyst version 13,11

Corsair HX750 psu

16Gigs of Corsair vengeance 1600

Any suggestions as to what it might be will be appreciated.

Problems continued at the bottom of the thread...

also what are you using to connect your monitor to your pc?

try updating video card drivers too

it is possible that this issue is coming from crossfireX

try disabling one card and see if it still happens

1.... *ehm*.. vga...

2. I'll update the drivers. It's just a bit annoying since they've been working fine so far and i haven't experienced any of amd's signature screen flickering with these

3. I have disabled crossfire and re-enabled it when it turned out it did nothing.

That is old, try a different monitor, or update drivers and secure cables

upgrade to DVI or HDMI or DP when you get your new monitor too

the cable might be part of the problem, test it out

Yeah i'll be sure to not use VGA on the next one. But it's the only option on this one. I'l be using display port on the next one.

The cable is a brand new gold plated one that i got a few months ago to alleviate this very problem. But it proved to be ineffective.

I switched to my philips tv and i still have the same problem :/

Updating drivers now. Hopefully i'll see some kind of improvement

Updated to the latest drivers. Haven't seen any flickers yet. But as it pops up at random i wouldn't be surprised if it shows up again.

Going to try the beta drivers because im curious to see if there are any real improvements.

If it does work from now on i'll mark this as solved (if i can figure out how to do so) Just going to test it out for a bit

Yup and the new ones aren't half bad actually 90-105 frames in mechwarrior without dipping under 60 during larger battles :)

I was usually staying around 70-80 before^^

Whatever they changed in the drivers really worked.

Sure im only running it at 1600x900 but still that's pretty damn good.

Going to be interesting to see the difference when i switch to a 780. :)

The flickering has returned and it's even worse now.....

I've reverted all my overclocks to base values and i have re-installed the drivers for my gpu. And gone down to the non beta drivers that are included with CCC

This is horrible.
