Yes, simply change the settings you want and don't touch the core and mem frequencies.

Hello guys plz make me rest i am very concerned about my gtx i have a gtx 1070 founders edition from nvidia and while playing shadow of the tomb raider on hughest settings i see the max temp is 80 degree with ryzen 5 1600x at 51 degree at max should i be concerned about the temperature of my gtx and thank you.

eh, you shouldnt use a blower, including founders edition if temperature is so big of a concern. Blowers hit 80C on high end GPUs easily, while Nvidia throttles their card enough that it won't go past 85C without dipping below base clock

Yes. If the noise bothers you, try my undervolting topic:

Though it's somewhat of an advanced user thing.

while = although

And technically it's not throttling until it goes under the baseclock. Anything above is a boostclock. It operates under GPU Boost 3.0, which takes into consideration power and temperature to determine the voltage and frequency used.

80C under full load is perfectly normal, my GTX 970 runs at 87C at stock speeds under load on a hot day.

The general course of action for these types of cards should be:

1- Lower voltages until it becomes unstable.

2- If not enough, lower powertarget until you dip below your target performance.

3- If not enough, increase fan RPM.

These FE cards are already fairly loud.

thank you guys all but i don't know how to use afterburner and if i am ok with these temps in a way that it wont damage my pc and my card than i am fine i don't want to make any change that i don't know how to do it and make my card lifespan shorter so if you please just tell me if i should change anything or no i just need to not damage my card and to play and thank you guys really you are the best.

hello guys i have a gtx 1070 founders edition the nvidia one and while gaming i see the temperature go up to like between the 76 and 80 degree i think this is hot for the card i need your help to make a profile for the fan curve using afterburner or any other software to do so. if you please help me i am new to this and need someone to help me with there fan curve. and if you can help me too should i change the fan curve or no and will this damage my fan or my gpu and shorten the lifespan of my gpu or fan and thank you.

If it starts to hit between like 85-90 then look into it, but its fine where it is.

no, the overclock is something you need to apply yourself using an app such as MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X. The only OC that will stay is if its factory overclocked by the seller, but since its a founders edition, it will not have an OC on it.

It really depends.

If the person you bought it from overclocked the GPU by modifying it's VBIOS (it's rare but sometimes happens, especially on miner's cards); then yes, the overclock will persist.

If the person you bought it from overclocked the GPU by using the usual software method (e.g. MSI Afterburner, etc.); then no, the overclock won't persist.

If in doubt, install MSI afterburner and monitor the clock speed, make sure it stays within the boost clock specifications of the card.

Thank you guys for the help and one more thing the gtx 1070 what is the base clock and the boost clock that i can see because i see it will hit more than boost speed is this normal i dont remember what is the boost clock but it is more than the boost clock that the 1070 founders edition has is this because of the turbo boost 3.0?

Boost clock varies on differing models too...
Mostly widespread that .....Every 4-5*c after 50*c, it drops the current 'clock table" by 13Mhz,.. so on stock under load,...1911Mhz Coreclock for Example.... 50*c,..to 55*c,.. it'll now be 1898Mhz.

Baseclock (Set by Nvidia?) is exactly that, something that should never go below while gaming.... (unless temps/sensors) slow it down due to excess heat or other factors..

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Thank you so much i really appreciate that but i don't understand one thing is that the boost clock is 1683 how it is 1911 or 1898 this is the thing that i don't understand and made me think that it is overclocked sorry for being noob but i really need your help and really thank you.

And if i see that the base clock is 1506 so it is not overclocked right?

I mentioned 1911 as an example boost clock so I could use the value 1898 to explain the clocktable reduction.
Your GPU is likely different in regards to how far Boost goes.

Boost is "Overclocking" by Nvidia, also covered by warranty still, as its standard procedure for these GPU's to do so, programmed as such.

Baseclock is what I'd define as "Default Clocks Before Boost"

You can also Youtube search GPU Boost and many vids show up..

(Choose more recent videos though to watch and get info from, GPUBoost has had a few revisions)

Overclock settings aren't something that are "saved on the card itself" so if you installed it and didn't OC yourself it will be running at stock.

A great program to check clocks and what not though is the MSi Afterburner.
