gtx 1050ti, reliable in 2018?

so i always see peopple saying “gtx 1060 6gb, rx 580 8gb, or 1070” but i wanna know if paired in this build : (PCPP wasnt loading so i am gonna type it out)

  • ryzen 5 1600
  • 2x4 ddr4 3000mhz ram
  • AM4 gaming mobo (not sure the exact name)
  • 550w power supply

 

needs: gaming while recording (most intensive game to record is pubg, medium settings, 720p if i need to.. but also need to play csgo, minecraft, and other indie games from itch.io

 

I also need it for game dev but it should work there considering i wont be working on any extensive projects

still playing pubg?  1050ti might not cut it if you use NVENC, this is a punishing game to run after all.

Work and Perform are two different things here - it will "work" but it will not "perform" well imho.  It will play those games (sans PUBG well) but adding more to it...Im not sure Id expect that from a 1050ti.

So I see no reason why anyone would need to go for a 1050 Ti (I currently find them for 190/200 euros) instead for a 580 8GB (found them for around 230)

1050 ti was good when it was a lot cheaper than the RX 570, but the 570 outclasses it now that it's so much more affordable

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

 

How many watts do I need? ATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explained, group reg is bad
