Literally never happened to me, and I buy a lot of parts.

 

I've bought a DOA graphics card once, but like

Most of the time it's just luck unless the specific part or brand is known for being faulty.

Make sure to quote or tag people, so they get notified.

I had a faulty Ryzen 2700x that started playing up after 2 months.

 

It refused outright to run Dual Channel Memory, it ran perfectly in single channel yet wouldnt boot past Bios in Dual Channel with just memory errors.  At first i thought it was ram but the chances of 2 brand new memory kits faulty was almost no chance.  When the CPU was tested when i sent back it failed str8 away and was RMA'd.

Also, I myself have purchased that sketch looking cheapo SSD for a couple systems, works pretty well.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

this is my build and I often see people post about parts that they got that stop working after a month or two. I was wondering how common this is if I buy most of my parts from amazon.

 

I have had 1 PC part go bad within 1 year of purchase.  It was a long time ago too.  MSI honored the return and I got a replacement that was in service for years before I tossed it out.  Ive only had issues with PC parts if you want to call the case a PC part - shipping companies beat the hell out of those boxes sometimes.

experimentation is worth it. Also, Inland is pretty well known for making loads of other products, with decent warranty coverage, so their entry to storage tech doesn't seem so bad for a budget part.

Cheap SSDs aren't always a great idea. Check out my signature for more information. I would recommend an EVO.
