Can't install Windows 10 because of GPT - Message

Hip

Hey guys,

I get an error Message when I want to install Windows on my SSD.

It says like my SSD has a MBR partition and on EFI systems Windows can only be installed on GOT partitions. I'm in "LEGACY+UEFI" mode right now.

Can you tell me what to do now?

Thank you in advance!!

You should be able to destroy the existing partitions create a new one and Windows should install from there.

Well there's format and there's deleting the existing partitions. If the drive is MBR and you format an existing partition then it's going to fail when it tries to go ahead with GPT. If you destroy all the partitions and create new ones (if the installer was setup using "GPT w/ UEFI") then it should create the new partitions and format the drive as GPT and allow the installer to continue.

The drive was just one partition when I formated it into NTFS.

So do I just need to create a partition first? And then enter the installer? Because in the installation process I can't click on "new partitions". It's grey.

You should be able to click on New when the drive says Unallocated Space.
