I guess it depends on where you live. Here in Hungary, they usually put the crappy stuff on sale.

Make sure to quote or tag people, so they get notified.

Agreed,..You only need to go Intel if your GPU/GAME is CAPABLE of 120-144+ FPS at 1080p (UltraSpec 1080/Ti) or 120-144FPS+ 1440p (UltraSpec 2080Ti)

Some games are just too shit to make it on either Processor.....
If your chasing less than that, either CPU will suffice at any typical resolution.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

I wouldn't be surprised if both companies were charging hard on BlackFriday deals...
Likely everyone can get what they want :)

Nahh. You shouldn't, its way to over priced even in Black Friday go with high end r7 it will give way better performance.

I doubt there will be any meaningful discount on Intel due to the extremely low supplies and shortages.

Good thing is that either you get an i7 9700K or i7 8700K it'll game the same.

People like you make it seem the i7 8700K is a single core processor.

The multi-treading/multi-tasking of the 8700K at 5ghz is much on pair with the Ryzen 7 chips, slight behind in favour for much stronger single and quadcore performance, frankly I don't get it why people keep parroting this stuff every where like it is such a 'gigantic' thing.

one of linus' video stated that amd had longer loadtimes in games, I'd be tilted if i went amd and then found out about that.

for 120-144hz u definitely want intel, and i actually think 2600/2700 is amazing value, especially the 2600 i wouldn't buy them for my main gaming rig tho.

I dont know if there will be sales as the 14nm shortage seems p damn severe.

People acting like FPS doesn’t matter intel i7 clearly has the best performance all around like do they watch the benchmarks I would get a i9 but that’s so expensive

It really depends on the game if you wanna trust alot of the benchmarks out there.. "I see 5-15%" gain for the 8700k in some titles and as you claim only a few in others (it differs from game to game) But where I am from the cost difference from a 2700x to a 8700k is 100$... That is not worth it im0.

I am also waiting for the "stupid" because I actually dislike these events, Black Friday to see if I can get something cheaper.. I wish we did not have to endure all those promotional events all the time and instead just have some solid prices.

I think there is alot more too it tbh.. Personally I would never make a build where I had a AMD processor but a Nvidia card.. I guess I am tainted from the old days where hardware failed to communicate properly when it was not the same brand....

sorry, but you are. There is zero difference between matched and "unmatched" vendor combinations!

They just work

As I said in my first comment.. it depends on what your budget is and what you are looking for.. I think a 100$ price difference is nothing and will not impact the budget (because my budgets are high I guess) 15% in some cases for only 100$ that is what under 2 hours of working for me.. "But might be many hours for others"

Perspective.. If the OP wants Intel then we should advice on that or comment upon it. But you are right about one thing.. get stuff as cheap as possible, but don't go for something cheaper than you want (downgrade) unless you have to or it makes no sense in your situation)

As I said "I am tainted" I know its not true and let alone for today, but back in the 90's that was the rave.. But look at my comment above.

ok my boy... please leave this yeah 100$ is like 2h of work for me bs away here

We talk about tech and not about how much we earn or how poor others are

alright? Thanks!

you can't argue against the price to perf ratio of AMD compared to intel.

Sure he asked for intel but we all should recommend what we think ist best. And almost everyboads here says: AMD

So sure state your opinion but don't brag about how much $$ you make

a 100$ saving for a pc with not much different performance can help some people very much

No need to be rude or/and resort to slander.

As I said. The difference from amd to intel can lead up to 15% increased performance, that is alot for 100$ in my opinion. I am not bragging about how much I earn, infact my salary is under the avg in my country! But that is beyond my point.. My point is that if you have a low/medium budget I would actually agree on making AMD since you get more value for your cash! But if you want more performance and don't mind spending IE 100$ more on a intel chip, I think its a better option performance wise. But it depends on the entire build and we don't really know that, so I assume that the OP since he is asking specifics already know the 8700k will fit into his build and thus I make my advice. I also try to save even if I could just buy, because no matter how much you earn, spend, etc. you will still go for the best deal in most cases.. I think there is a good chance of the 8700k going on sale tbh.. But we can't know.

So you don't think 15% performance is alot? If I had 130 fps with the amd on avg on games I played, I would welcome the 15% increase if it was for those games! Imagine if you had a 144 hertz monitor, then you would actually get to reach your atleast 144 fps mark.. Again its a matter of what you want to buy and how much 5-15% increase in performance is for you and most of all what your setup already entails.

So lets agree to disagree but without being unfriendly alright? I think 5-15 % is a good increase in performance for 100$ you don't and that is perfectly fine! But it does not really matter, since what matters is what the OP thinks.

Also its fine to advice him AMD, but he already said a few times that he don't want it!

Yeah dude.... chill ;)

This was just a hint and nower near rude :D

But yeah you're right in Gaming, not in other tasks

so last post for me here:

Pure gaming perf: Intel

Everything else (and maybe get a better Videocard): AMD

end of discussion :D

Then we agree after all and I can understand that things get heated up and sometimes taking out of context (we do write stuff after all and not all of us have English as our native)

I would never buy amd when Intel is better even though I don’t make much I buy quality it was just a simple question on intel going on sale for Black Friday I don’t give a damn about amd

Intel and nvidia is better then amd and their gpu series

Then the most correct answer to your question is.

Most likely, but we can't know for sure! So you will have to wait and see.
