Posted October 28, 2018 when you are inside of ubuntu if you want it all gone, just type "sudo rm -rf /" without the " although you may have to add "--no-preserve-root" to the end, again without the " or you can format the drive or if it is a mechanical drive you can violently shake it while it is in use, just note that this will kill the drive Sadness is the one true emotion, and happiness, well, that's just a lie, sadness is all many of us feel, and is all we need to feel, because having it any other way, would just be wrong, why be happy when you can just be miserable like myself. Posted October 28, 2018 @Chahn20 To format (i.e. wipe a drive) you can use dd (best to do so from a live-disk so you don't have issues with file locks) if the Ubuntu is your current OS. # sudo dd -if /dev/zero -of /dev/${driveLabel} -bs 16M replace ${driveLabel} with the drive that the ubuntu is on (sda, sdb, sdc etc). You can also use /dev/urandom as the input source if you prefer to write random nonsense to the drive. You also only really need to rewrite the first ~64 MB of the drive as that is where the partition table and boot record (MBR or EFI partition depending on whether you installed via BIOS/compatibility mode or EFI) is stored if all you want to do is make the drive look like it is empty to an operating system.
