Caching 2 HDDs with a single 480GB SSD

This reply gave me this idea

So I might replace my 480GB SSD Plus with an 860 Evo or MX500 this Christmas, so I figured it'd be more useful as a cache drive than sitting in a drawer, unused.  I'm just wondering if it's possible to cache a 4TB WD Black and a 2TB Barracuda HDDs with a single 480GB SSD split to two 200GB partitions.  If it is, is it a good idea?

Caching is stupid IMO, just unnecessarily wears out your drives while increasing disk activity and limiting benefits of what gets accelerated and what doesn't.

If you have a spare SSD then either sell it so you can get money and replace your HDDs with SSD in the future, or use it as a separate drive and you choose what you put on it.

Primocache.

Never use it. I have no need to cache my hdd.

Why don't you just use it as an extra ssd, 480gb is a waste for just caching.

It's currently my "extra SSD".  I'm asking a what-if scenario in the event that it gets replaced by an 860 Evo or MX500 this Christmas.

Definitely an option I'm considering
