If I beat metro 2033 like 4 times does that count?

Metro last light and titanfall 2 are the same story.

Halo 1,2,3, el dewrito

rainbow six siege, Vegas 2

call of duty 2 through black ops 2

minecraft

counter strike

arma 2, 3

skyrim

fallout 3, new vegas

dawn of war, winter assault, Dark crusade

world of Warcraft

command and conquer generals.

Spore

garry’s mod. (It had dayZ & Minecraft before those were things. Also RP Servers were way better back in the day because there were no rules & admins didn’t care. Zombie survival & 30 player hl2 co op, sandbox communities. Now it’s all “FAIL RP! RDM!”)

I haven’t played many pc games over 40 hours. I usually play them 6~20 & 20 is a lot for me.

Very surprised y'all forgot about Skyrim Legendary Edition. It includes the original game, Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn. Plus added features such as combat cameras, mounted combat, Legendary difficulty mode for hardcore players, and Legendary skills that lets you master every perk and level up your skills infinitely.

Rimworld

Path of Exile

Portal

I would also agree with the others who said:

My 40+ hour games have been:

- Minecraft

- Super Smash Bros. Melee, Brawl and 4

- Mario Kart Wii

- Black Ops 2

- Black Ops (original, mainly the Zombies mode)

- Any Pokemon games before generation 7

- Skyrim

- Sonic Generations

- Insaniquarium Deluxe is at 30 hours, but I decided to mention it anyways since for what the game is (the simple concept) I feel like I played it way too much. Plus that is only my Steam hours, if I include the hours I played it 'back in the day' it would be way over 40.

- Same for some games I played in the past like 'Zapper'. Loved that game and beat it quite a few times.

- Medal of Honor Allied Assault comes to mind as well, played that to death online..

This game seems to have a slight learning curve that I haven't really put my foot on. What type of strategy have you learned from the hours of game play in it?

I have Borderlands 1 and TPS. LOVE the DLC of the first game. I need to get more hours into TPS. How do you get past that moon land? It seems like that scenery is never gonna change.

I just watched some game play on this game and the graphics and attention to detail looks pretty solid. However, I can tell there's a lot to learn. What are the basics of the game and is there any type of tutorial you go through in the beginning of the game?

Most definitely. What part of the game basically hooked you to it? I've had these Metro games for the longest time but nothing really hooked me.

I recently picked up Titanfall 2 and the beginning of the campaign started off really well and engaging because of the atmosphere. Does the entire campaign continue that way?

By they way, thank you to EVERYONE who listed games on this topic. There's some common games between the majority of lists that really stand out and seem to be games I HAVE to get more into. Just need some type of motivation to get me going.

Tbf i watched the trailers hyping myself up for like a week before I played the games. I found the atmosphere & apocalypse very authentic. The story is really good & the setting feels so real if you pay attention to every detail & explore every dark corner.

The campaign is NON-STOP action.

SPOILERS:

Spoiler

Level 0 is the fun race tutorial level

Level 1 is like generic large scale invasion as a footsoldier

level 2 is where you GET a titan for the first time

level 3 you fk sht up with a titan

level 4 I think you go into a giant factory assembly line

level 5 if I remember correctly is the one where you fight the past and present at the same time

Level 6 is a giant Titan versus Titan battlefield

level 7 is a giant battle on space ships in atmosphere which is badass.

Level 8 is the epic conclusion battle and you ... it’s just awesome.

Thats all IF I remember all the levels properly in the order they are but like... okay I remember some other badass parts I didn’t list but IT’S FEKIN COOL! Tell me that sounds boring.

1 hour ago, A Random Dude said:

More or less. Dawn of war came out 2005, 2006 winter assault expansion came out, 2007 the standalone expansion dark crusade came out.

Original was a fun game with a fun campaign.

Winter assault is difficult & fun also introducing imperial guard as now playable

dark crusade is the best of all Dawn of war games

soulstorm... exists-I didn’t list it. If you get it ONLY play the apocalypse mod.

For every Dawn of war I listed except for soulstorm, you MUST play the campaigns. Skirmish is still tons of fun though.

Steam, in order:

Star Trek Online

7 Days to Die

Clicker Heroes

AdVenture Capitalist

StarMade

Altitude

Left 4 Dead 2

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

Other, not in order:

Guild Wars 2

Sins of a Solar Empire

Red Alert 1 + 2

C&C Tiberian Sun + Tiberium Wars + Generals

FlatOut 1 + 2 + UC

Diablo 2 + 3

TERA

Fallout 3 + 4

GTA 1 + 2 + 3 + VC

Minecraft

Forza Horizon 3

Fragile Allegiance

Any game is a 40+ hour game if life leaves you without distractions for long enough. ? On the other hand this doesn't perfectly gauge good games, many games have fantastic campaigns but I haven't gone back to play them enough to qualify for this list (Titanfall 2 is a great example).

Nothing really. I think TW2 is worst out of 3 games in terms of lore and longevity, but I still play it because it's above most role playing games out there, and got great replay value.

I just love the series to death. I love fantasy genre, and I'm also slav, and Witcher is both of those things made by people who put their heart and soul into those games. I know Witcher 1 and 2 inside out. Every quest, every side, every character. Witcher 3 is A lot bigger, I'm still finding new things, choosing different paths in branching quests etc. I'm starting yet another 1,2 and 3 walkthrough today.

It's 'Free to Play, but in reality it's Pay2Win. I quit because many of my friends and other old time players did. Developers and EU publisher turned this game into a hot mess with a lot of P2W and terrible game mechanics. People just got sick of them and of people with THICC wallets who turned PvP into 'Oh look, He is P2W, I just lost'

Why'd you quit? I've tried many times to keep playing a game like this and this one looks to have a lot of attention to detail.

24 minutes ago, xAcid9 said:

Kingdom Come

So THAT is what Kingdom Come is. I remember seeing a lot of hype before this came out and completely forgot the game existed. Now that I just watched a few minutes of gameplay, it looks like you can get addicted to a game like this as long as the learning curve isn't too steep.

26 minutes ago, xAcid9 said:

Path Of Exile

I've kept this game installed on my Xbox One HDD for the longest time which is very surprising considering I never play it and I always have to uninstall games to install new ones pretty much twice a month. Something about it just keeps me from uninstalling it. I probably have about an hour of game play in it because it's tough for me to understand the genre and how to go about completing things. It's like I'm doing things in the wrong order or something. Did this game do that to you in the beginning? And how do you go about doing things from like an hour in?

33 minutes ago, xAcid9 said:

Dota 2 - 1950 Hours

When you were in your first few hours, did you expect to get to almost 2000 hours? How did you get so many hours in this game? I can barely put in an hour into it then I lose interest.

2 Didnt do anything better than 3.

Going from 2 to 3, it just expands the universe with better graphics.

Lore is like the depth of a specific world that a story takes place. So for example, in the witcher: you can go as deep to read histories of characters, past kings and etc. Its like going to history class. The history doesnt affect you upfront but you know it happened.
