FX 8320 Running 3.7-4.0Ghz with 2.220v is this ok to run

hi my specs are

FX 8320

GA970A-DS3P mobo

Hyper Evo 212

8 gb DDr3 ram

I am just wondering if the voltage is going to kill the cpu because stock voltage is meant to be 1: 4000 MHz, 1.425V. 2: 3700 MHz, 1.4125V

i dont like the sound of 2V at all, but maybe on FX chip it is slightly less unacceptable?

I only see your reply if you @ me.

you shure? because im pretty shure the CPU should be burning right about now. and perhaps be dead............

fx max voltage is 1,5 volts apperantly........ anything below 1,55 is also apperantly fine

I would personally run it at 2.2v because Christmas and Black Friday are coming up and you need a full upgrade.  May as well go out with a bang ;)

Let us know how long she lasts, very curious.

Edit:  Actually, I had that motherboard on the Intel side and it tan my e4300 1.8GHz Oc'd to 3.4Ghz for 6+ years.  You may not be able to kill it, it's Ultra Durable! :)  God I miss that thing.

Check your BIOS settings, see what is reported there. It's extremely unlikely that you are truly running at 2.2v. In fact, I doubt you can set it that high even if you wanted to.

Looking at HWmonitor, I suspect the software is misreading VIN6 as VCORE. VIN6 is probably VDDA, for which 2.220v is alright.

(Even if you could set 2.2v vcore, without exotic cooling on your VRM, it would catch fire as soon as you load the CPU. If you had no fires yet this has to be a software error).

More likely than not yes. You would not be able to cool that thing if it was running at those voltages and frequencies.

if your CPU was really running at 2.2v it would be dead already.

You need to go into the BIOS and see what the voltages are at. Go to the "PC Health Status" area, it will show you active voltages. The page to check for your board, should look similar to this.

Or just look at the main screen upon entering the BIOS and it'll tell you what Vcore is actually at.
