Differences in the same looking car?

Are there any substantial differences in the Toyota 86 VS Scion FR-S VS Subaru BRZ?? I have an untrained eye, but they look extremely similar despite bumpers.

Of those three, no. There is nothing significantly different between any of the three, they're the same car made in the same factory.

I figured. Are these brands all owned by one big omnicorp then?

Toyota has 16% ownership of Subaru, so... Kind of. Toyota is the largest independent shareholder of Subaru. Scion was a brand owned by Toyota, but is now discontinued.

Toyota definitely owns Scion, but it's not uncommon for brands (like older Chevy) to rebadge cars from other OEMs.

Subaru has used boxers (I think technically they used flat V engines), but not for everything. The BRZ and WRX are the two boxers I know of.

I'm more looking into inline sixes but still looking at options lol

Amont of slightly right info is staggering on here. Just go to the car thread and you'll get better answers. I'm in class and don't want to be seeing typing too much

If I'm not mistaken the suspensions are difference between those three, the interior and the tech are slightly different as well. For example Subaru BRZ's got smart key which mean it uses start push button while Scion FR-S is key started. Toyota 86 has got TRD options as well.

 

I'm not really familiar with BRZ, 86, and FR-S as well, but I think those are the noticeable differences, add/correct me if necessary.

They're all packed with a boxer engine.

Just like the others' said, Scion is Toyota, but Toyota's held some of Subaru's shares.

Toyota worked with Subaru, which is why theyre similar cars.

I had an inline 6, a 60 degree v6 and currently have an 8AR-FTS turbocharged inline 4. 

 

I thought i wouldnt ever enjoy something with less than 6 cylinders but i was wrong!
