If your willing to risk destroying your hardware like that, why not go that tiny little extra mile to actualy protect the hardware even if it makes it harder to tidy after.

 

Dielectric grease, kneaded eraser, conformal coating. Any or all. Its better than just shoptowels >.<

 

Also would it not have been better to go with the subzero chiller (did u even have it at subzero?) on the GPU rather than the CPU ?

A note on the retail chiller, that thing can have its thermocouple bypassed very easily to go below 4c.

Two men silently watching a monitor waiting for a post for more than 30 seconds is the kind of suspense I look forward to when I watch one of these videos.

I don't know if Linus does ghetto setups because he's just lazy or because he's going for the entertainment value but it's certainly more fun to watch a paper towel get shredded by a fan than properly insulated hardware.

Indeed. All one has to do is combine both Jay and Steve's mod methods with LMG's cooling methods and you've got some pretty damn impressive performance. Note that Steve used shunt mods (which LMG are using) and Jay used a modded 2080ti bios.

It's true that a vacuum doesn't conduct heat very well, but as long as the important parts are liquid cooled, it doesn't matter.  At least fifteen other people in the video comments had the same idea.

Its easier to just build a sealed case from scratch and fill it with dry air or a innert gas like Nitrogen.

if you try to go vacuum you have to ensure the case is capable of handling the pressure differential.. needs to be strong, which is just an unnecessary complication.
