Which SSD should i buy

So i have 2 options: Buy a Samsung 850 Evo 120Gb or Kingston A400 120Gb.

Which one should i buy???

I know it's more expensive but I'd get the Samsung one. It has a much faster write time.

You can opt for the 860 version. It's cheaper than the 850 with twice the storage.

I stick with Samsung and intel, they make their own flash so it tends to be the best of the best, while some of the other manufacturers sell B grade stuff.

This one has more storage and faster speeds than the 850. It's the same brand and series, just a newer one.

Well... I am planning to get an used 850 evo for 35$ so that won't work

Adding to what others have said, the 850 EVO has 75 TBW, while the A400 has 40 TBW.

Oh well if you're getting it for the same price as the Kingston then hands down get the 850 while you can!

 

The speed is significantly better and more reliable than the Kingston one.

Crucial, Sandisk, WD, Toshiba, and SK Hynix also make their own flash.

That's just the warranty limit, it says little about the actual write endurance.

I wouldnt buy Samsung Evo 850s.  I had 2 of them and both failed of exactly the same thing within a short time of each other.

Samsung all the way! They make insanely fast ssd and they boot up hella fast.

Curious. Of the around 30 EVOs I have (500GB to 4TB, mostly 4TB), only one failed and it was DOA (which the vendor quickly replaced).

 

You must be doing something wrong. How did they fail?

They just refused to boot one day and when i run diagnostic software it had lost part of the drive size.

 

I RMA'd and had both replaced but the fact they both failed in first year was really bad.
