GPU not detected after CMOS flash.

sKauha

Hello everybody, I need help.

GA-Z77x-D3H

i5-3570k

GTX 970

I reverted my bios to optimized default settings, and when I booted it froze on the bios splash screen and wouldn't even go to bios no matter how many times I booted.

I cleared CMOS, which made the computer boot again normally, but with no signal from the GPU. I had to boot off of integrated graphics but bios, device manager nor nothing could detect the GPU.

I checked that the GPU power cables were still in place, and that the card is firmly in the pci-e slot. I even updated BIOS, but no GPU is detected.

The GPU has lights on and the fans run for like 20 seconds when the computer is booted.

Any suggestions on what to do?

Try using DDU and then pretending like it's a new graphics card for the system. A first time system boot with different hardware configuration (less ram, storage, etc) will help reset things. Go into windows with minimal stuff, remove drivers, add all stuff back.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

funny how I had that same exact issue numerious times on my Z77-DS3H. I never got to figure out what caused that I always had to take the GPU out, reset cmos, boot in to bios, shut down the computer plug the graphics card and hope that it worked, my PCIE X16 slot is quite bent badly from heavy graphics card, I had to keep the gpu up slightly so maybe try that

Ok well now this is some blackmagickfuckery. I just came back home from work. The computer had been sitting powered off, plugged in for like 21 hours. I thought "heck it" and tried to boot it one more time before taking it apart. It booted. It detected the GPU!! I'm so happy :D I fiddled around with it for like 5 hours last night trying to get it to detect the GPU and it seems all it needed was some rest :D Thank you for your answers once again :)
