Everyone gets the surprise with tempered glass.

Tempered glass is extremely weak on its sides. The moment you hit anything hard on the sides, it shatters in million pieces as you saw.

If the panel has screw holes, the sides of the screw holes is also weak.

 

You can probably order a new panel from the manufacture, just check the shipping cost, and make sure that the price is much less than a new case.

You can also probably see if a window manufacture can install a new tempered glass for it for you (but it might be more expensive than your current case, due to labor.. it is more for windows and glass doors, but doesn't hurt asking).
