Core i3 8100 or i7 3770?

I'm building a pc for gaming I found a second hand i7 3770 (non k)  for less than the i3 8100 there aren't any benchmark videos comparing them so do any of you guys wich one performs better in gaming?

Heavily threaded games will favor the 3770 but most will perform better with the 8100. 

What kind of prices are you looking at for the different platforms including the ram and motherboard?

Do you have a compatible mobo for the i7 3770?
The i7 should be slightly better than the i3, if only because it has hyperthreading, but you would be pretty much locked to the maximum that the platform can get you.
With the i3, you could potentially upgrade to an i5 or i7 in the future, budget permitting.
