Using an m.2 ssd on a mobo without an m.2 slot

you would need a z97 or newer board with nvme boot support.

 

Why do you want a nvme drive anyways? What are you doing on the system?

I impulse bought the drive because it was on sale and was planning on using it as a boot drive and to store some other light apps that I use daily.

Id just return it if you can, get a cheaper sata ssd, the performance difference is small.
