nothing atm. Vega 7nm might be more efficient or clock higher, but it's still the same Vega. So is Polaris 30, still a refresh of RX 400 and 500 series. Navi seems to be listed as 2019 product, but from past track records it wont be released until the end of 2019.

Any ideas what Navi hype is about? Certainly not ray tracing right?

Nothing, and frankly anything they do come out with likely won't be able to compete directly with Nvidia's top end. They simply don't have the R&D budget, and are stuck on HBM.

I don't think RTX is going to be relevant at all. These cards are looking to be really lackluster. Some evidence is showing that the highest tier card cannot even hit 1080p 60fps with Ray Tracing enabled.

bringing gtx1080 performance for $200 MSRP, not raytracing.

not until a few more generations of cards... People buying these stuff will want raytracing to be doable on their monitor's native resolution and refresh rate, so 2.5k/4k 144hz. Since 2080ti cant finish the demo (which I assume to be as optimized as possible) at 1080p 60 (redgamingtech reports the demo to be running between 33-48 fps), there's a LOT of room for Nvidia to improve before it becomes a worthwhile product from the performance perspective (price wise... let's forget that for a moment).

No I guess it's worth a shot cause the gtx series is being getting to the end as we all know about so releasing a new series will get them on to the market since without something new no one will buy it 

Let's say if you have Titan x in sli you won't try to buy any other gpu if there is nothing to compete against it

It's called a money grab OP, they releasing new cards and only talk about ray tracing, no performance gains over 10xx, if performance would be great I'm sure they would about about it right. Sure if you have 9xx cards go buy it why not if you have the money but otherwise I wouldn't risk it on yet imperfect tech. Remember when they showed hairworks? It was cool but cards performance was hitting rock bottom when turned on in some games, making the feature useless for us gamers who prefer silky smooth gameplay first over fireworks.
