Copying hard drives

Hello I am attempting to transfer my data from my 2tb external wd blue hard drive to my 5tb toshiba internal hard drive. Accronis keeps trying to make a new partition of the external In the internal but the partition is full of the external and the rest is empty space. So I attempted to make a backup file onto a 2tb internal I had and recover the backup onto the 5tb but it's actually been over a day of the backup trying to work and i don't even know if it's going to work. If anyone knows acronis very well please help.

Why are you using accronis? Just use explorer to copy the files. Is this a boot drive?

Can you upload a screenshot to show us the issue: trying to make a new partition of the external In the internal but the partition is full of the external and the rest is empty space.?

Is the 5TB drive a MBR disk?  Probably it uses 512B sector and you need to convert it to GPT so that you can use all the 5TB.

Or you can try other backup tool. I recommend MiniTool ShadowMaker, which is a new backup software.
