Is my GPU real?

That's not how degradation of pc components works at all. Aside from storage devices, pretty much everything form gpu to cpu will perform exactly the same as it did when leaving the factory, until it decides to kill itself (pretty rare tbh, unless you're doing serious overclocking with heavy overvolting). Check out this Linus made:

Hello, I bought a used GTX 1070 ti and would like to know what testing platforms I should use to benchmark the card and test if it is either real, really worn out or close to new. O know 3D Mark and others but I have no idea what is the recommended or what my card should even achieve in each benchmark? Can you please help?

I'm mainly doing this as a screw on the backplate of my Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1070ti OC edition is bent so I fear modification. It is paired with a Ryzen 5 2600.

does it have 8GB VRAM? Does it run games on ultra at 1080p or 1440p with basically no problems? That'd be the easiest way to tell.

Remove the heatsink and clean off the thermal paste. Search the code engraved on the chip.

And then re-apply thermal paste using the one that comes with the CPU cooler I ordered? Also, does new thermal paste increase performance at all?

You wont lose performance like that from a card that was mined on. Thats not how performance on a GPU works.

It'll help keep temps low which can help the card not throttle. It's generally a good idea to put new paste on every couple years.

Also, if the HDMI cutout is a square or it has VGA it's a dead giveaway it's a fake

There was/is a misconception about mining.  While excessive use "might" degrade it, that's still a debated topic that has insignificant evidence to prove as fact.  So, lets just leave that as a "maybe yet not likely" thing.  What would cause damage over time to the card is if it was in one of those mining rigs where the cooling is utter crap.

Oh okay. The internet made it seem that mining cards were utter red flags that will dramatically reduce performance. Thank you for telling me.

Armed with a free copy of 3DMark, you’ll be able to easily benchmark your machine, swap the video card, benchmark it again, and compare the results–no technical degree required. Also you can find lots of details by surfing on https://www.howtogeek.com/178620/ask-htg-is-there-an-easy-way-to-benchmark-my-video-card/ AppValley 9Apps TweakBox

Thanks, but I'm coming from PS4 so unless I plug that into the PC to compare it to this isn't possible haha. But thanks for saying 3D Mark is a good option.

The most sure way to tell is to remove the heatsink and see what is reported on the GPU core.

GPU-Z is pretty reliable, although that can be fooled.

MSI Afterburner should also identify the card.
