@Shyam Ganapathywhile nobody is pretending that isn't possible, it's also not legal, so it's usually frowned upon to suggest it.

 

meanwhile, "gimp" plus "good ui" ? i mean it's been a while... but UI was definitely not one of its stronger points last time i tried it.

 

if you need a free power tool, that can do pretty much anything the professional ones can, GIMP is definitely it, but "easy to use" has never been one of its strong points.

 

if you just want something to make a few scribbles in, paint.net is also free, and is more of a midrange, easy to use tool. kinda like MSPaint with a lot of upgraded functionality.

Personally I use paint.NET for Windows only, and the free license of Lightworks. But that’s just me.

Resolve has quite steep learning curve if you haven't ever done video editing. HitFilm might be more easy to learn.

 

Same goes with GIMP. Problem with both are that they are aimed to be free alternatives for Adobe software. You can do basic stuff with Pain3D, but if you want to work with layers and transparency, you need to learn PS/GIMP style software. GIMP has variation and settings to make it look like PS.

For video editing software I use HitFilm Express. It's free, comes with plenty of features, has regular updates, a dev team that is really into the project (they make all sorts of videos showcasing how to do fun tricks in the program and so on).

For image editing I also use GIMP. However, like a lot of the others have mentioned, while it is very powerful, the UI looks outdated and ease of use is not very high on the list either.
