Samsung 840 evo

Sup guys,

 

i need a new Bootdrive since my ocz 64gb solid 3 is going down in performance and space (only 2.5gb left). 

So my first thought was to get a 840 evo but i cant decide which one. Should i get the 120gb version for 80€ or the 250gb for 140€? The 250gb should be faster due to moke Iops and

more Cache, is it noticable if i boot into windows 7?

 

An additional thought to price/performance would be if i can use some of the ssd space to go with the hdd as a cache? I only want to do it if it goes nice and simple, i hate messing around with my storage much :D

These days I would get 250/256. 120/128 just isn't enough. I have a 128, and it only ever has 20-30 gigs free, with me trying to keep it not totally full.

yeah, thats what i was thinking too. But i dont really throw much on it and it still fills up super fast! :D

 

 

Does btw anyone know how much actually capacity i get with the 120gb model? Since i got only 55 out of my 64 gb drive.

Tell me about it... I have a 64GB SSD and I am struggling to keep it from filling up completely...

 

OT: The EVO seems an awesome drive, I would get the 250GB version: it's not too expensive and more space is always better ;)

You should get around 110-111 GB of space. This happens because Windows counts in 1024 increments whereas the drives are counted in 1000 increments.

The top field is the GB you are asking about (usable space in windows), the 3rd down is how the hard drive manufactures list their available space.
