980ti or 1050ti

Hello im newer to pc building and i was looking between a gtx 980ti and a gtx 1050ti and i was wondering if one is significantly better than the other after looking at gpu benchmarks it was still unclear.

Hi welcome to the LTT forums! The 980ti is about 2-3 times as powerful as the 1050 so get that one if your PSU can support it.

980 Ti is significantly better than a 1050 Ti.

The GTX 980 Ti is a significantly better card than the GTX 1050 Ti. The GTX 980 Ti performs as well as a GTX 1070 in games and other workloads.

 

That being said, there's probably a significant price gap as well?

The 980Ti DESTROYS the 1050Ti in every perspective available. That said, the card consumes up to 250W of power, which is a lot more than the similar-performed 1070, which consumes only around 150W. So going with the 1070 might be a wiser choice.

Oh man, it would be a pretty depressing world if a top "ti" would be obsoleted by next gen entry level GPU.
