Need some advice picking a case/psu/cooler

Hey Guys,

So I'm getting a new rig, and my main concern is whether or not it's a good idea to go with this set of PSU/Case considering the graphics card, a TITAN Xp.

My choice for case and PSU are the Aerocool CyberX Advance Mid Tower case, with an Aerocool KCAS-800W 80Plus PSU. Also adding in a CoolerMaster MAP T4PN 120 mm air cooler for the intel 8700K.

Should I opt for a better case? The supplier I'm getting my case from is this one. Can you guys help me out to pick a good, fitting case for this PC I'm building? Also some extra fans maybe to cool out the components in case I wanted to do some OCing?

This is my first build ever, and I'm lost in this world of cases and PSUs and cooling and all!

Also please note that my budget for a PSU/Case/Fans can go up to ~$350-$400 if it's worth it.

Thanks!

I can't recommend the Define R6 enough, it's been a pleasure to work in and ease of access for everything I've needed to do.

Are you looking to water cool or AIO at all?

I love watching their showreel video on it too, yeah I'm a geek...

Oh.  Sorry about that.

I hear good things about the NZXT S340.  I personally don't like any of the other flashy cases, but don't know how well they work at all.

I was going to suggest the H500P MESH, but your supplier seems not to be selling it. And very honestly, I don't find his prices to be that interesting

Okay, first of all that is an insanely limited supplier, are you sure there are no other alternatives? Secondly, if you can I would go for as beefy of a cooling solution for the 8700K as you can, they run very hot when OC'd. I have one myself and it definitely runs warm at 5ghz. I don't know much about Aerocool products so I can't speak to that case or PSU. But I know that Corsair and EVGA PSU products are very well regarded so if either of those are an option I would strongly consider it. I wouldn't go below 800W with a gold or better efficiency with that TitanXp you will be powering. I agree that the Define R6 is an excellent case. I also have had really good luck with my Phanteks Case (Phanteks Enthoo Pro M SE). I would say before you buy, spend some more time researching the brands that put out high quality products and what would go best together. There are hundreds of build vlogs and product reviews from the likes of @bitwit @paulshardware @JayzTwoCents @HardwareCanucks and of course LTT.

Thanksfor this awesome reply! Unfortunately, where I live, I don’t have many options when it comes to getting high end equipment. That TITAN Xp is from a really exceptional supplier that has recently gotten into the market of GPUs exclusively. I’ll research my options with what I have, and I’ll try and keep it as cool as I can.

With a Titan Xp and a 8700K, you'll want good airflow, something the S340 cannot do at this high of a hardware level. My personal recommendation based on all these cases would be this:

https://pcandparts.com/aerocool-p7-c1-pro-bg-rgb-lighting-w-tempered-glass-full-window/

Comes with 4 fans pre installed so you dont need to worry about fans, and it's open mesh front which means you'll get great airflow.

As far as the PSU goes though.... Oof.... That selection is terrible. All the good ones are out of stock and rest seem pretty Sketch... @STRMfrmXMN

The 8700k runs pretty damn hot, but the Cooler master Master air is probably the best air cooler per dollar out of all the options on the 2 sites.

What do you want from case?

Flashy gamer bling bling or more classy look?

Design which can muffle some of noise of components or noise doesn't matter?

Good properly chosen case keeps it usage value longer than any other part, unlike that expensive Titan Xp which is quite worthless in five years.

(two months to go for 10 years from buying case)

And in PSUs anything below 80+ Gold should be out of picture when you're going for luxury graphics card.

Selection/stocks of those two shops just looks really abysmal.

And heatsink selection isn't really better.

Yeah, none of the PSUs from there that are in stock are a good idea to pair with a GTX Titan.

None of the PSUs from that store that are in stock are worth your time. Not a single one. You can afford a Titan and 8700K, you can afford import fees or whatever you have to spend to get a good PSU. A Corsair TX650M, Seasonic Focus Plus Gold, Bitfenix Formula Gold/Whisper, EVGA GQ/G2, etc, should do fine, but please don't get those Aerocool units.
