looking for headphones, stuck between two options

vangsfreaken

i'm gonna keep this short as i'm sick of creating threads without getting anywhere :P i'm looking for new headphones that's more precise than my z5500's, yet more powerful than my siberia v2's. due to availability i'm stuck between the beyerdynamic custom one pro's and the sennheiser HD 598's, but i'm not sure what'll fit me best. my soundsource would be my xonar dg, and here's a good mix of what i listen to, plus some ACDC, skillet, and such music.

so, anyone able to help me? :P

The Custom One Pros are closed, the 598's are open. Pick what you want.

Closed - better bass, less sharp highs.

Open - Soundstage, nicer sounding mids, more natural sounding sound.

I say get closed backs. Opens can be obnoxious on planes or trains or in public. They might sound better but for the bass lost....meh

thank you, but that still doesn't help me to much deciding what'll fit me best :P

to be clear, noise cancellation does not matter at all. they will be used strictly in my room, where i'm all alone.

I prefer the natural sound, and only use my M50s for production uses, but it is all personal preference.

In that case, do not get a portable headphone like the COP.

Or a pointless product like the 598's.

OP, 558's are a better value.
