Need a new phone for summer. Should I go for the oneplus 6 or wait for the 2018 iphone?

UltimaHeart

I owned an S7 edge since launch & I really hate it since its gotten to crap so I really need a new phone.

Should I suffer with it to get the iPhone 2018 or get the Oneplus 6? The bundle & the low price really makes it tempting but I really want the great support the iphones get so im trying to decide here.

I would honestly wait for the 2018 iphones, because it looks like there will be three options yet again this year, along with a possible SE2. I would see options first. OnePlus is great, but not for its price. Apple falls along the same lines. I would look at all the options once released before making a final decission.

Oneplus supports their smartphones really well. So what you want from the iphone the Oneplus allready has. I say grab the oneplus 6. The camera on the oneplus might not be the best but is quite decent as far as i know.

Depends on what you're after

The iPhone has a different philosophy from Android, so some of the stuff you may be used to might not apply to iOS. It is a pretty dang good phone though, and rumor has it that it could be more diversified this year, so there's probably some choice if the top-end models are just too expensive.

The OnePlus 6 is a solid deal, though not quite the killer deal the OnePlus 3 was. Still, it does pack pretty gutsy....guts and OnePlus is pretty solid, though not the best, in terms of support. Expect 2 years of OS upgrades and some security patches along the way, albeit a little inconsistently. The 845 does tend to thermal throttle a bit after heavy use though, so bear that in mind.

The entire reason Oneplus exists is because their phones are great for the price.  I just upgraded from the oneplus 3 to the 6 and it's a beautiful phone, just hope they figure out how to put the camera inside the display in the future so I don't have a notch in the way of my status bar.

Yeah but you can't plug them in and charge at the same time without a dongle. Plus, ypu can't plug them into anything else. With the OnePlus you can get regular earbuds and charge while listening to music

Get an android phone. iOS is downright shitty compare to the lastest android Oreo. It can hardly multitask, not to mention downloading anything from the internet.

Some people prefer the Apple "walled garden" experience. (Which is becoming more walled off as time goes on). Still, If that's what you want, then get an iPhone.

I got the Original Oneplus One new from the company in October 2014. The battery started to go and I finally replaced it with a new battery this past December, which put my daily charge back to 24 hours or so.

Yes, I still have and use My OnePlue One.  The camera is sub-standard by today's standards, but it's serviceable - and everything else on the original OnePlus One is still perfectly fine for my daily use. My wife has a OnePlus One as did my eldest son. He's young and doesn't carry his phone in a suit coat pocket -- so I guess his manner of carrying it around leads him to drop his phone more often. He ultimately dropped it two weeks ago onto pavement and it broke beyond sensible repair.

That Unpleasantness turned out to provide me with an excuse to buy a OnePlus 6 8GB/128 Midnight Black. I expect to receive it in 2 days via DHL from OnePlus in Los Angeles. Without the drop-and-break clumsiness of my son, I would probably have kept my own OnePlus One until next year. (My mobile plan with my own phone is grandfathered under the same Unlimited Data Text Voice for my lifetime and is as dirt cheap-as-cheap-can-be, so being able to get 3 to 4 years out of my own phone not supplied by my carrier is important to me. ($30 CDN a month for unlimited Talk/Text/Data? Beat *THAT*)

I  think OnePlus makes great products that last at a very affordable price. I've bought them for me, my family and will continue to stick with them until they give me a reason not to. I certainly do prefer them to the Samsung Galaxy phones I have previously owned. I think Samsung's products are focused on a faster upgrade life cycle; they don't last as long, receive less software updates, and overall, they seem to be targeted with a 2 to 3 year upgrade cycle sold through carriers.  That's a fine business plan for Samsung -- but not so fine for me.

I'll stick with OnePlus. Your mileage may vary.
