Rate my New Build

Im beginning preperations for my new pc build. Ive dismanteld my last one which had a 5960x, 1080's SLI and 3x480mm rads in a custom hard piping loop. Ive decided to do a MATX build this time, as my last build had 3 rads, 2 gpu's and a cpu in the same loop, all powered by an AX1500i and an EK X-top Dual Revo d5 pump. The problem was by time the water reached the reservoir it was practically trickling in despite both pumps running at 100%. I assume that there wasnt enough pressure and too much resistance from the loop, so Ive decided to do a smaller, more compact loop reusing many of my parts but upgrading others.

I plan to do a Threadripper 1950x (watercooled), ASRock X399M Taichi MATX Motherboard, 32gb Corsair Dominator 3600mhz limited edition Platinum RAM, and a GTX 1180 (which i will watercool) when it releases. With my experiences with Nvidias poor SLI GPU Optimization Ive decided not to bother with SLI ever again.

The case Ive bought is an InWin 8.0.S.S Cube Case supporting MATX Motherboards.

I plan to use 2x380mm slim rads along the top, and a slim 240mm rads along the front. This should allow for enough coolong potential for a single CPU and GPU, whilst the slim form factor minimises resistance in the loop, hopefully allowing for better water pressure within the loop.

This case will no doubt be more compact and difficult to work in than my Thermaltake Core X9, but having some experience now doing a custom loop in a horizontally mounted case with Hard piping, i beleive it should be achievable.

Here is a pick of my case so far, checking clearance and positioning with the pump, reservoir, psu and hard drives mounted.

i think build logs might be a more suited section

rads really dont add much resistance, id go for thicker rads really they should also flow better because the tubes between the finns can be wider. resistance comes mainly from the blocks :)

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Don't buy the threadripper yet, Ryzen 2XXX just landed so TR refresh will follow shortly - Also that isn't really enough to cause such a flow restriction, its a few rads and sli + CPU - only one block short of what I run now (albeit with smaller rads) I would be looking at those D5's I just swapped out my DDC as I kept getting air bubbles in my block, haven't had it since

Im thinking of waiting to see what the 2950x or whatever its called performs like. Hopefully its compatible with the current x399 mobos like AMD said.
