RAM running at less than half speed?

So I built my first PC a while back and I just now noticed that my RAM is running at about 1000MHz instead of the 3733MHz.  I turned on XMP on Profile #1 and that borught it up to around 1595MHz but still slower than what I got.  I'm using a Asus - ROG Strix Z370- H motherboard and an i7-8700K processor.  I'm pretty new to custom building computers so I'm not sure where to go from here.

The 1000/1595 MHz you're seeing is actually 2000/3200 MHz. DDR4 RAM stands for Double Data Rate which means the actual clock speed is 1600 MHz but it can send data twice per clock so the "effective" clock speed would become 3200.

 

That being said, 3200 is still below 3733. What specific kit of RAM do you have?

When you enable XMP, what is the RAM multiplier set to in the bios?

I found the multiplier and it was set too low.  I increased it and now its running perfectly!  Thank you so much :)
