Also games aren't really the go-to piece of software for parallel processing, most of the time the CPU is just telling the GPU what to fetch.

actually no. jaguar is an entirely different thing from the A10

actually the jaguar cpus i believe were opterons. https://www.amd.com/en-us/who-we-are/corporate-information/history EDIT:apu's. i feel like they were perhaps opteron x processors married with maybe 6770 graphics?

They weren't. Jaguar is the name of the architecture itself.

 

There's no reason to stick a server processor in consumer electronics.

Uhhh Its not Really. if you buy say COD on PC you get to play online with out spending any other money. Buy it on PS or Xbox and you MUST have a Subscription to XBL or PS Plus. Which range from sites like CDkeys or other non direct places $35ish to the retail of  $60 a year and single months of about $10 if you pay that way. 

 

I Own PS4 Xbox One Switch & a Gaming PC. Typically ill just buy the one or three months when i get into a game on console as i know i wont play that one all year with the variety of ones i own my self. 

 

the Few free games might have free online  but if you buy any games which 99.99999% of people who buy a console to game will do they will have to pay to play online at one point. there are promos for new people and Free weekends here and there.

Personally i Still Think consoles can be cheaper and even in the long run not a bad buy. IF your really on a TIGHT budget get a xbox one S or PS4 Slim  You can pick them up for under $199 and it plays every game out on the consoles and for the foreseeable future will get all future releases. and that price comes with a controller.  you get a lot for that price and is the way to go if you dont have the money for a PC especially if you have a TV you can use already.  Yeah you can use the PC on the TV but your going to want to utilize the actual pc with the monitor and you'll have to buy a Keyboard & mouse separately along with the Monitor. 

 

The PC is imo the better route but not if you dont have the money to enjoy all/ some the extras the PC can bring to the table

console has a function most pc`s doesnt have these days. it is called a bluray player, ever hear of it? therefore Console provides the supirior bluray experience.

Not only that, but all consoles with Bluray have every licence needed to play Bluray out of the box. One just needs to download the player for XBOne.

 

Whereas freeware for PCs is a crapshoot on which discs play, and some payware is not much better.

@GoldenLag B-but a Pc can have a blueRay player added to it. No one cares about it because quite a lot of people wear the Black hat and matching Eye patch. so they don't need physical copies due the their..... Other methods.

 

Being someone that has both a console and Pc I sway more to the Console due to Functionality and ease of use, Quick start up and i'm away to play games. while with a pc it relies on many factors, Your pc wanting to work, what communication platform you are gonna use etc. Plus my Pc mates usually in different time zones so that sucks....

Actually. Its Xbox Live Gold, And Playstation Plus.... and Nintendo will be rolling out this year But will be about 1/2 the cost of the competition.

That's a $100+ purchase for a decent new player, and you have to add more for software that'll play it all.

@Drak3 I forgot to add  /joke to the end of the post. I hardly use my player unless installing drivers for Hardware I got. and has them in the box really.

i would say this is a great advantage to anyone who wants a 4k bluray player. But id also Say this is probably less the 5% of people who are looking to play games.

With a samplesize of 1 i can determin it is actually 100%. Consoles are pretty much the best diskreaders you can get for the price

Just because its the best you can get for the price doesnt mean people who buy it for gaming care or will ever put a 4k blu ray in the machine.

my dad owns the console, however im 99 percent certain he doesn't have to pay for it either. maybe its a lucky glitch?

The entire Xbox family, and the PS4, require premium service for games that use any part if Microsoft/Sony's serviced (usually match making). There are a few games that don't require XBL Gold or PS+, such as Happy Wars.

To each, their own. I have no bias toward one or the other. As a slight pragmatist, I choose PC because it has more options and costs less for me to maintain (with the way I do things).
