I do not know the reason, and would like to give them the  benefit of the doubt. But I can only think of one reason: Capitalising from addrevenue from other people's videos.

I think you have to be the owner of the original video to make a copyright claim. So I only think that LMG can do so.

Unfortunately the current system YouTube has is broken as heck.

 

It asks me to flag comments from the offending channel and of course randomly pulls videos from my own account. Shows how well YouTube's abuse system works. I'm not going to submit this report at risk of shooting myself in the foot by taking my own videos down.

 

EDIT: That only removes comments. Still not risking it. God knows what it actually ends up doing.

You don't get a lot from Google ads nowadays anyways. Why else are more and more people turning to sponsors and patreons.

not even that, to be able to monetize your videos you need 1000 subscribers and I think 10K views+4000 hours watched or something like that? so a small channel like that will never get any money.
