Got a new motherboard/cpu and it won't detect gpu

JoyceManor

I got an I78700k with an asus z370-A and it won't detect gpu, it won't let me,install GeForce experience or the MSI driver app

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Also I went under devixe manager and found it hidden but greyed out and a website suggested I uninstall the device and Windows would automatically install it again but that doesn't seem to have happened

Edit: I didn't plug in the second power cord for it lol so that fixed it BUT my computer blue screens now when I try to launch a game. The fans pick up RPMs but then it crashes.

Last edit I hope: I think I fixed it, seemed to be a setting I messed with in the Bios but thanks for everyone's help! I really appreciate it!

What do you mean?

If you're asking if it's lit up and seems to have power then yes

No. Does it work on another motherboard? Like another computer?

likely it is the motherboard. I really doubt it would be your CPU

CPU is the last component to fail in a PC. Look for a new motherboard of the same model.

It's the GPU that's not being detected not CPU

Try a new CPU? What motherboard, CPU and GPU do you have?

i doubt you cpu is the issue, just RMA your board or give it back to whoever sold it to you and get a new one.

If it doesn't work in another PCIe slot, try using the iGPU to get into the bios and set the graphics card as the boot priority.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Step 1, Look in bios to see if its set to use PCI-E gpu ahead of IGPU,

Step 2, Reseat the GPU in the pci-e slot, also check that you have plugged the power (external) to the GPU, fans can still spin if the external 6pin/8pin hasnt been connected since the card gets 75w from PCI-E slot.

Step3. If previous steps did not solve the issue.. quickly find receipt and RMA motherboard ;)

Step 4. Angrily await new motherboard

Step 5. Be overjoyed when new motherboard arrives and everything works ;)

Have a nice day ;)

Sorry, didn't notice you listed them in your original post. Is there anyway you can take the board and GPU back to where you brought them to see which component is broken under warranty?

hi.
