Dude ... who spends $3000 on a gaming rig for school? Check Linus's Christmas build guide. The highest I think is $1600 for the beast config, good luck.

For all we know he could be going to school for hard-core 3D editing...

Gaming Rig for School, that's a problem right there.

There are 10 types of people in this world, those who understand binary, and those who don't.

For all we know he could be going to school for hard-core 3D editing...

If that was the case then Hard-Core 3D Editing Rig would be a more appropriate title.

If this is just for gaming then spend $1000 - $1500 and save the rest of the money for classes, food, gas, etc.

From what he said, it is a project for school. Maybe like if you were given $3000, what would you do with it. Most people here would obviously buy a $2800-$3000 PC and the rest left over for games.

CPU: i7-4770k CPU Cooler: NH-D14 RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8gb GPU: EVGA Superclocked 780 ti MOBO: ASUS Maximus VI Gene PSU: Corsair RM 850 Case: Bitfenix Prodigy M

If it's actually for a school project, maybe you could look for someone's custom loop build that's around 3 grand? At least you'd have pictures to show what it'd look like.

"It is due in 2 hours."

It sounds like a theoretical build, people.  Calm down.

I would love some confirmation on that. I'm a bit confused to as what the situation is for the OP.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/
