Titan Xp or GTX + Quadro?

erlhau9

HeyHey!

New plans in the mancave! Im planning to buy some GoPro 4k cameras, start editing and storytell videos from carshows just for fun.. but i have one struggle... today I have a gtx 1080, but it struggles on my CAD programs... so i want to either buy a quadro to my 4k monitor for editing and CAD, and use the 144hz 1080p monitor on the gtx1080.... OOOOOOOR, a titan card for both?

Well what CAD program? Does it actually make use of a quadro? Quadros won't do gaming too well.

What's the pricing on like a WX 5100 or 7100? Could possibly just do a cheap secondary PC just for CAD work.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

A titan Xp isn't going to be a major upgrade vs a Quadro WX card if his software makes use of the pro features/drivers.

Try Resolve, it's free, least before you consider buying Vegas.

That sounds like a massive headache that will only cause problems.

I'd probably just throw together a cheap R5 1600/2600 + WX 5100 secondary PC and call it a day, also lets you render videos on one machine while you game on the other, just only if those programs make use of the WX card. Workstation stuff is always a pain to decide what to buy, not enough info/testing.

That is also a good idea, i have a old garbage i5 4440 laying, maybe i can use that as a beginning on a render/cad machine...

A secondary PC would actually be great, than i can use it as a media pc to my cinema room to.. pc rom and cinema is right next to each other..

I will try Resolve as you mentioned ?

1080 should be more than enough for AutoCAD.......as I m a professional designer.....ND I HV been using a 980ti as a GPU for AutoCAD .....ND haven't faced much of an issue....

Though I upgraded to a Titan Xp 2 months ago....

Try overclocking ur GPU to get additional performance
