Will get a Fractal Design Meshify Nano S?

minervx

The MATX case is excellent, but the ITX market needs love.  The transparent front mesh, glossy look, build quality all around and the tempered glass would be much appreciated in the ITX market.  Because right now, compact PC lovers don't have a lot of real choices.

Length: 15.5" --> 12"

There is no need for a hard drive cage or anything else that would lengthen the case.  The drive storage available by the back of the motherboard is plenty for most builders.  The length of allowed video cards is a subject of controversy of course.  Of course, FD will want enthusiasts to put high-end cards in there.  But for those with smaller video cards, it's totally wasted space.  I'm sure some in-between middle ground can be had.

Width: 8.3" --> 7,5"

Of course, we would still want 2x 140mm fans on the front and a radiator on top, but aside from that, the sides could be a trimmed a bit.  It would still fit a lot of air coolers out there, and much of the enthusiast market uses liquid coolers anyway.

Height: 15.7 --> 13"

The difference between MATX and ITX alone can allow for a reduction while liquid cooling is still viable.

As much as I'd want a SFX power supply for a case like this, there's still an issue of cost, silence and the market not being ready yet.

FD is notoriously tight lipped about potential releases of future cases, often just dropping cases out of no where at no apparent schedule. Another hopeful is a Meshify R6, but dont expect to get a solid yes or no out of @fractaljosh! ;)

As for mITX cases that are actually mITX sized, the Ncase M1, DanCase c4-SFX and Loque Ghost S1 are the three big contenders

That's the issue though.  There are no in-between.  There are either "mini" cases that are still larger than a shoebox.  Or $200 custom made ones that don't have room for fans and coolers.  I'm really hoping for something in between the Nano S and the Loque Ghost S1.

Raijintek Metis Plus is the closest thing, but it has a bad window panel and a lack of ventilation

Most manufacturers already offset the radiators in the top to clear the motherboard.  You can't just take more than an inch away in the width, as that would mean there simply wouldn't be enough room for 140mm or even 120mm wide radiators without adding 2-3 inches in height above the motherboard.

It would also limit the maximum cooler height to less than 140mm (the Meshify C allows for 172mm, you want to take roughly 33mm off the width), which means any cooler with a fan over 92mm will be too big.  That really doesn't leave too much choice, and certainly nothing that has adequate cooling capability.
